Bogotá’s Blueprint: Forging a Future of Equity and Innovation in Family Planning

SIDAF returns from ICFP 2025 Energized and Ready to Collaborate, Innovate, and Accelerate.

The echoes of passionate discussion and the spirit of global collaboration are still with us as we reflect on an incredible week at the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) 2025 in Bogotá. Under the powerful theme, “Equity Through Action: Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for All,” the global community came together to chart an urgent and inclusive path forward.

SIDAF is proud to have been at the heart of these critical conversations. We did not just attend; we engaged, we learned, and we committed.

Our Key Takeaways from ICFP 2025:

The Unstoppable Force of Youth: The voices of young leaders were not just in the room, they were leading it. ICFP reinforced that the future of family planning is youth-centered, co-created, and rights-based. We are more committed than ever to ensuring young people have a seat at the decision-making table.

Innovation as a Lifeline: From AI-driven data tools to new service delivery models for hard-to-reach communities, the conference was a showcase of life-changing innovation. SIDAF is inspired to leverage these digital and community-led solutions to break down barriers.

Equity is Non-Negotiable: The message was clear: we must do more to reach the furthest behind first. Our focus must sharpen on adolescent girls, refugees, and marginalized communities, ensuring that universal health coverage is truly universal.

The Power of “Together”: The energy in Bogotá proved that our collective strength is our greatest asset. Collaboration between governments, NGOs, the private sector, and community leaders is the only way to build resilient health systems.

A Heartfelt Thank You
To our invaluable partners, the dynamic speakers at our sessions, the dedicated attendees, and the entire ICFP community, thank you. The connections we strengthened and the new alliances we formed are the foundation upon which we will build a more equitable future.

The Work Continues

The conference may be over, but our mission is more urgent than ever. The conversations in Bogotá were not endpoints; they are our blueprint for action.

SIDAF is returning home with a renewed mandate to Innovate, Collaborate, and Accelerate. We are ready to roll up our sleeves and translate this momentum into tangible programs, advocacy, and impact.
