Description: From February 12–14, 2024, SIDAF and its partner Buity(wo)men hosted a transformative art therapy and personal development workshop at the National Museum in Yaoundé. Designed for students of the University of Yaoundé I and local youth, this three-day event highlighted the intersection of creativity, health, and empowerment.
Participants explored topics such as community health rights, gender equality, and mental well-being. Through interactive sessions, including intuitive writing and drawing exercises, attendees were encouraged to envision solutions to societal challenges. The workshop emphasized that personal and community development begins with a strong sense of individual well-being and active engagement.
By the end of the program, attendees expressed increased awareness of mental health and personal growth, and 10 young volunteers pledged to lead future initiatives. SIDAF’s innovative approach demonstrates the power of art as a tool for social change and capacity building.
